But even though it sucks, I did have an eventful week-end. I went to the Blaxploitation movie poster exhibit at the Stax Museum. It was purty cool, but I had a buzz going and didn't really feel like reading all the details about each movie. The musuem is nice, but Beef and I didn't think it was as good as it could be.
My favorite event of the week-end was when I was sitting at Zinnie's East and I received a text message from a friend of mine. As I was diligently typing away a response the man sitting with his girlfriend next to me at the bar said, "excuse me, ma'am." I'm like, yeah?
"I couldn't help but notice your old school phone. My girlfriend and her friends are always giving me shit about mine."
He shows me his phone, which isn't quite as old as mine. He points out the duck tape holding the battery in place. I told him I was ashamed of my phone. He said I shouldn't be ashamed, it was an awesome phone. So we held up our broken down pieces of crap in pride and shouted "my phone rocks". There's no need to be ashamed. It's a perfectly good phone that still functions most of the time. I am going to get a new one soon, because I really am embarassed by it. I'm even more embarassed that I'm embarassed because I have an old cell phone. I'm so shallow.
I'm looking forward to the Wilco show at the Orpheum this week-end. Haven't seen them since they played the Gibson rooftop.
